History
The year was 1970, and Ed Reiff was looking for ways to keep the people in his basement waterproofing business “Desert Dry Waterproofing” busy during drought season. Staffed by men experienced in paving and concrete, Ed started Associated Paving Contractors, named with “A” to get peoples quick notice in the yellow pages. Ed’s 3 sons came into the business, with son Adam taking an interest in the paving company. Adam took over on 1981 and purchased the business from Ed in 1992. Since then Associated has grown from a small driveway paving company to a recognized leader in the industry in the Philadelphia area. In 1989 Adam saw the need for a qualified environmental contractor to meet current regulations, and started APCON Environmental Services. Today the sister companies use the APCON moniker, as Associated Paving grew to become much more than just a paving company.
Today the company employee approx. 50 people and has acquired a large fleet of varied and versatile equipment and trucks. At this writing the company is planning to expand to a brand new shop and office facility to accommodate its growth.
Surrounded by qualified and dedicated employees APCON plans to continue its mission of building its business on the relationships it dearly has built with its customers, vendors, and employees.

From humble beginnings and older trucks and equipment, APCON has grown to be a formidable organization in the site important industry throughout the Delaware Valley area. With hard workers and dedicated employees, we have been able to acquire new state of the art equipment and trucks, which we take a great deal of pride in. Qualified mechanics keep the large fleet maintained in top working order, with a rigorous preventative maintenance program, giving maximum performance on any jobsite.
Relationships
We strongly believe our business has been built on relationships. The family atmosphere we foster with our employees and the devotion, dedication, and hard work that they perform are paramount to our success. Many of our employees have been with us 10, 15, and even 25 years. The long standing relationships we have with all of our vendors, who support us through providing quality materials and service, the support is a key ingredient to the quality of the project. The relationships we forge with our customers are ones we cherish. We are pleased to say that we build bridges, not burn them, and we treat every customer with respect and loyalty as we earn their trust and confidence in our company and its capabilities. We still have many customers that we started with in 1970. Many of our repeat customers employ us to do work without even asking for a price, because they know we will not take advantage of them and give them guaranteed quality work at fair prices. New customers quickly become steady customers as we make sure every expectation of us is met, the jobs turn out the way the customer expects and the work is done in a timely fashion.
Communications
We are true believers that open communication is a vital element in our business. Through open dialogue and input from our employees, we are always striving to improve the line of communication, thus resulting in time and effort saved. With constant radio and email, contact with our personnel keep projects moving throughout completion. Open communication with customers, vendors, subcontractors, and associates; assure as smooth a transaction as possible from conception to completion.
Time management
Time is our most valued commodity; we stress optimum time management to all of our employees so no time is wasted, and every effort is a fruitful one. An example is mapping out routes for our trucks to take to assure that we don’t waste fuel, and every effort is made to maximize the availability of our large fleet of trucks, keeping them loaded in both directions. Time is money, and money saved by utilizing our time in the most constructive fashion, is passed on to our pricing, keeping us competitive in a very competitive market.
